This mountain-side retreat, tucked among towering pines and rocky outcroppings, deserved a kitchen that embraced its rustic surroundings while delivering bold, timeless style.

Our client’s vision was clear: elevate their small kitchen into a space that would stand out without feeling out of place in its cozy, woodsy setting. We saw it as the perfect opportunity to prove that “small” can absolutely mean “show-stopping.”

Our design approach was about contrast and cohesion where the cabinetry became the star of the show. Benjamin Moore’s Hale Navy, a classic deep blue that brings instant sophistication. To balance the depth of the navy cabinetry, a red brick backsplash that runs throughout the space, lending warmth, texture, and an undeniably rustic charm.

Beyond aesthetics, our design had to make every square foot count. Semi-custom cabinetry solutions maximized storage without crowding the space. The layout, though constrained by the home’s footprint, was fine-tuned for modern functionality—proving that a mountain kitchen can be both beautiful and practical.

The finished space feels like a modern nod to the classic mountain lodge perfect for gathering, cooking, and sharing stories after a day on the trails. This kitchen renovation may have been small in scale, but it delivered big on design, comfort, and the timeless Colorado spirit.
